In January 2026 he completed the reconstruction of a road and eight school buildings in the constituency that had been destroyed by gunmen. On 22 June 2026 APGA presented him with a nomination certificate as its candidate for Ihiala in the 2027 general election, alongside Stella Oduah and other candidates.
As of August 2026 Agbodike remains the sitting member for Ihiala.
