- 23 July 2026 Army expanded to 12 divisions to tackle insecurity — President Tinubu approved the expansion of the Nigerian Army from eight to 12 divisions and the recruitment of 28,000 additional personnel. Four new divisions will be based in Makurdi, Ilorin, Jalingo and Benin City, with the first phase due for completion by September 2026. (Punch)
- 20 July 2026 Tinubu names 26 board appointees, Fayose to head REA — President Tinubu announced 26 new appointments across 10 federal agencies. - 13 July 2026 FG suspends planned WAEC, NECO fee hike — The Federal Ministry of Education withdrew its plan to raise WAEC and NECO registration fees from N27,500 to N50,000 (an 82% increase) from 2027, following public outcry. - 8 July 2026 New Kano rep sworn in after by-election — Shuaibu Rabiu (APC) took the oath as member for Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency, Kano State, after winning the 20 June by-election with 35,356 votes. The seat fell vacant on the death of Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan (NNPP). The House remains 360 members. (Premium Times)
- 7 July 2026 Panel inaugurated to draft state police law — President Tinubu inaugurated the Presidential Working Group on the National Policing Bill, chaired by Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila.
