Richest States in Nigeria: FAAC Allocations and IGR Ranked
Delta State received the highest federal (FAAC) allocation in 2025 — ₦649.67 billion net, thanks largely to the 13% oil derivation. Lagos State was allocated the most before deductions (₦706.90 billion gross). But by the money a state raises itself, Lagos State is Nigeria's richest by far, with an internally generated revenue of ₦1.26 trillion in 2024 — more than the next five states combined. Below, all 36 states are ranked on both measures. The Federal Capital Territory (Abuja) is not a state and is excluded from the rankings.
