Kayode Akiolu represents the Lagos Island II federal constituency in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Born 2 August 1981, he was elected at the 2023 general election, having earlier won the APC primary for the seat in May 2022; he had also secured a party ticket for the constituency in the 2018 primaries.
Before politics Akiolu worked in finance, including a period at JP Morgan, and has used constituency outreach in Lagos Island schools since 2020.
In May 2026 he emerged as the APC consensus candidate for the Lagos Island II seat ahead of the 2027 general election. As of August 2026, Akiolu remains the sitting member.
