About Hon. Alhassan Ado Doguwa

Alhassan Ado Doguwa represents the Tudun Wada/Doguwa federal constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Born 14 August 1965, he is among the longest-serving members of the chamber and was returned at the 2023 general election, when the APC took five of Kano's 15 House seats against the New Nigeria Peoples Party's ten.

Doguwa served as Majority Leader of the House in the 9th Assembly (2019–2023). He was charged in connection with electoral violence in Kano in 2023; an appellate court dismissed the case, and he was awarded N25 million in damages against the Kano State government over the prosecution.

As of August 2026, Doguwa remains a leading APC figure in Kano, taking part in party reconciliation efforts and in Aso Rock meetings on the 2027 campaign.
