Babajimi Adegoke Benson represents the Ikorodu Federal Constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives and chairs the House Committee on Defence in the 10th National Assembly. First elected in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, he was returned in 2019 and again at the February 2023 general election.
A lawyer, Benson holds an LL.B from Lagos State University (1994), was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1995, and took an LL.M in comparative international business law at London Guildhall University (1999) and an MBA at Warwick Business School. Before entering the House he worked as a legal officer at the United Nations headquarters in New York, as in-house counsel at Ecobank Plc (2001–2003) and deputy manager, legal, at Lead Bank Plc (2003–2004), and served as company secretary of the Lagos State Development and Property Corporation and as a non-executive director of the Lekki Free Trade Zone. In earlier assemblies he chaired the committees on Banking and Finance and the sub-committee on Habitat.
In May 2026 Benson won the APC primary for Ikorodu, securing the party's ticket for a fourth term after local groups had raised zoning objections in April. In August 2026 he urged the military authorities to patronise indigenous defence equipment manufacturers.
