Ghali Mustapha Tijjani represents Albasu/Gaya/Ajingi Federal Constituency of Kano State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). He won the APC primary for the constituency in mid-2022, defeating Bashir Ahmad, a former aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, and took the seat at the February 2023 general election.
In December 2024 Tijjani publicly opposed the tax reform bills forwarded to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu, describing them as ill-timed and anti-masses and saying he and other Kano lawmakers would work to block them.
