Midala Usman Balami represents Askira-Uba/Hawul Federal Constituency of Borno State in the House of Representatives, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the 2023 general election. He was born 3 July 1980.
Balami has concentrated his floor interventions on insecurity in the North East, repeatedly calling for rescue operations after mass abductions in Borno and, in July 2025, backing the proposed creation of a Savannah State from parts of the region. He has also run constituency schemes including fertiliser distribution to farmers in 2025.
In April 2026 he obtained nomination papers to seek re-election for the constituency ahead of the 2027 general election.
