Audu Mohammed Lauya represents the Karim Lamido/Lau/Ardo-Kola Federal Constituency of Taraba State in the House of Representatives, elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party at the 2023 general election and sworn in with the 10th National Assembly on 13 June 2023.
In May 2025 Lauya condemned killings in Karim Lamido and called for federal security intervention in the constituency. Through mid- and late 2025 groups in Ardo-Kola, Lau and Karim Lamido publicly criticised his representation and demanded that he disclose his constituency allowances; Lauya's constituency office has not been recorded responding in the coverage located.
As of August 2026 he remains a PDP member of the House.
