Odimayo lost the APC ticket for the constituency at the party's Ondo primaries on 18 May 2026, one of six serving Ondo members of the House denied re-nomination in that exercise. In July 2026 he was among officials criticised by an African Action Congress candidate over the condition of the Ore-Okitipupa road.
As of August 2026 Odimayo remains the member for Okitipupa/Irele for the balance of the 10th Assembly.
