Jesse Okey-Joe Onuakalusi represents Oshodi-Isolo II Federal Constituency of Lagos State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the Labour Party (LP). He won the seat at the 2023 general election and was sworn in with the 10th National Assembly on 13 June 2023.
His return was challenged by the All Progressives Congress. The National and State Houses of Assembly Election Petition Tribunal dismissed the APC petition and upheld his election on 4 September 2023, and the Court of Appeal affirmed that ruling in early November 2023. In November 2024 Onuakalusi accused a former aide of forgery and impersonation.
As of August 2026, he remains one of Lagos State's few opposition members in the House.
