About Hon. Zainab Gimba
Zainab Gimba represents the Bama/Ngala/Kalabalge federal constituency of Borno State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. First elected in March 2019, she was returned at the 2023 general election and is serving a second term in the 10th National Assembly.
Before entering the House, Gimba served in the Borno State executive as Commissioner for Poverty Alleviation and Youth Empowerment (2011–2014), Commissioner at the Borno State Universal Basic Education Board (2014–2015) and Commissioner for Water Resources (2015–2018). She holds a doctorate in public administration and policy analysis from the University of Maiduguri and was elected Vice President of Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians, Africa Region, at the 2019 Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference.
As of August 2026, Gimba remains the member for Bama/Ngala/Kalabalge.
