Benson Sunday Agadaga is Senator for Bayelsa East, elected on the Peoples Democratic Party platform at the 25 February 2023 general election, when he polled 22,517 votes to unseat the incumbent, Biobarakuma Degi of the All Progressives Congress. It is his first term in the National Assembly.
Agadaga was a secondary school administrator, serving as principal at several schools between 1988 and 1998. He later worked in the Bayelsa State government as Special Adviser on Establishment under Governor Seriake Dickson, and as Chief of Staff to Governor Douye Diri from February 2020 to 2022.
As of August 2026 he sits with the PDP caucus in the 10th Senate.
