Abdul Ahmed Ningi represents Bauchi Central in the Senate on the Peoples Democratic Party platform. He won the seat at the 25 February 2023 general election with 104,878 votes (55.4 per cent), returning to the chamber after an earlier term. The district covers Dambam, Darazo, Ganjuwa, Misau, Ningi and Warji local government areas.
Ningi was a member of the House of Representatives from 1999 to 2011, serving as House Majority Leader from 2003 to 2007 and as chairman of the House Committee on Police Affairs from 2007 to 2011. He first sat in the Senate for Bauchi Central from 2011 to 2015, when he was Deputy Senate Majority Leader.
As of August 2026 he sits with the PDP, which is in the minority in the 10th Senate.
