Mohammed Muntari Dandutse has represented Katsina South Senatorial District since 13 June 2023, elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress at the February 2023 general election. He is serving a first term in the Senate.
Dandutse was a member of the House of Representatives from 2015 to 2023, representing Funtua/Dandume Federal Constituency. He moved to the upper chamber after taking the APC senatorial ticket in the 2022 primary with about 77 per cent of delegate votes, defeating the sitting senator, Bello Mandiya.
As of August 2026 Dandutse remains the senator for Katsina South.
