Ibrahim Mohammed Bomai has represented Yobe South in the Nigerian Senate since 2019 and is serving a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. He was first elected on 19 February 2019 and returned in the 2023 cycle, defeating Halilu Abubakar Mazagane of the Peoples Democratic Party.
Born 10 February 1960, Bomai spent his career in public-service accounting before entering the Senate. He was bursar of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Potiskum, from 1988 to 2002, later held posts as assistant chief accountant and deputy director (accounts) in the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation, and was Director of Treasury of the Federal Capital Territory Administration in 2008. He retired from the civil service in August 2016.
