Allwell Heacho Onyesoh, born 26 December 1960, has represented Rivers East, Rivers State, in the Senate since 13 June 2023, having won the seat at the election of 25 February 2023. He succeeded George Thompson Sekibo and is recorded as the first person from Etche to be elected to the Senate.
Onyesoh served as Commissioner for Education and later Commissioner for Sports in Rivers State under Governor Peter Odili, and was appointed chairman of the state's Senior Secondary Schools Management Board in 2008. In the 10th Senate he chairs the Committee on Federal Character and Inter-Governmental Affairs and is deputy chairman of the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream).
As of August 2026 he remains Senator for Rivers East.
