Osita Izunaso represents Imo West (Orlu) Senatorial District, Imo State, in the 10th National Assembly, taking office in June 2023 as a first-term senator for the district.
Izunaso was earlier a member of the House of Representatives, first elected in 1999. He served as National Organising Secretary of the All Progressives Congress from February 2013 to May 2018. On 8 August 2023 he was named chairman of the Senate Committee on Capital Market when the 10th Senate unveiled its standing committees; he also sits on committees covering rules and business, local and foreign debts, housing, gas, foreign affairs and sports.
As of August 2026, Izunaso remains the senator for Imo West.
