About Senator Osita Ngwu
Osita Ngwu represents Enugu West Senatorial District, Enugu State, on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. He was elected in the February 2023 general election with 52,473 votes, ahead of the Labour Party's Dennis Amadi on 48,053, and took his seat with the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly. He succeeded Ike Ekweremadu, who had held the district for about two decades.
Ngwu has served as Senate Minority Whip since 21 November 2023, when the minority caucus leadership of the 10th Senate was reconstituted. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree (2001) and an MBA (2016), and worked in the oil and gas sector before moving into business in 2016.
