About Hon. Akintunde Rotimi Jr

Akintunde Rotimi Jr., known as Akin Rotimi, represents the Ikole/Oye federal constituency of Ekiti State — the Ekiti North seat — in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Born 17 April 1981, he was elected at the 2023 general election, succeeding Peter Owolabi, and serves as spokesman of the House of Representatives, chairing its Committee on Media and Public Affairs.

In that role he announced the chamber's schedule for voting on 44 harmonised constitution alteration bills in December 2025, and in July 2026 issued the House position that Speaker Tajudeen Abbas had enforced standing rules rather than blocked budget debate. The Reps minority caucus publicly disputed his statements on legislative independence in June 2026. Governor Biodun Oyebanji appointed him chairman of Ekiti Para Athletics in January 2025.

Rotimi won the Ekiti North APC primary in May 2026.
