About Senator Abdulfatai Buhari
Abdulfatai Buhari has represented Oyo North in the Nigerian Senate since 9 June 2015, and is a returning senator serving his third consecutive term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. He was re-elected in 2019 with 107,703 votes and again in 2023.
Before the Senate, Buhari sat in the House of Representatives from 2003 to 2007 for the Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Orire federal constituency and served as an Oyo State commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matters. He chaired the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybercrime (2015–2019) and the Committee on Land Transport (2019–2023). He holds a doctorate in public policy from the University of Abuja, awarded in 2009.
Since 8 August 2023 he has chaired the Senate Committee on Aviation.
