Ahmed Aliyu Wadada is the Senator for Nasarawa West, Nasarawa State, elected on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the general election of 25 February 2023 and sworn in with the 10th National Assembly on 13 June 2023. He is serving his first term in the Senate.
Wadada left the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2022 after a disputed party primary and contested the seat under the SDP. He polled 96,488 votes to defeat the APC candidate Shehu Tukur (47,717) and the Peoples Democratic Party's Musa Galadima (46,820), unseating a district then associated with the APC national leadership.
As of August 2026 legislative directories list Wadada as an SDP senator, though he has been reported since late 2024 as weighing a return to the APC.
