MKO Abiola Dies in Detention

Moshood Abiola passed on suddenly, a few days after the death of General Abacha. It was speculated that he was to be released from prison the day he died.  While hosting a team of American foreign relations officers, including Thomas Pickering and Susan Rice, at an estate in Abuja, Abiola became sick and died.
