Introduction of Cashless Policy by CBN

The cashless policy of the Central Bank of Nigeria was launched to facilitate mobile payment services, eliminate the traditional obstacles to financial inclusion for many Nigerians, lower expenses, and offer streamlined financial solutions in the country. The cashless policy was launched into the Nigerian economy in December 2011 and was implemented in Lagos in January 2012.
