Umaru Musa Yar’Adua Becomes President

Yar’Adua emerged victorious in the Nigerian presidential election that took place on 21 April 2007 and took oath as president on 29 May 2007. He was a former Katsina State governor from 1999 to 2007 and was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
