Henry Seriake Dickson has represented Bayelsa West in the Nigerian Senate since 15 December 2020, when he won the seat at a by-election, and was returned at the general election of 25 February 2023. On 8 August 2023 he was named chairman of the Senate Committee on Ecology and Climate Change in the 10th Assembly.
A lawyer born 28 January 1966, Dickson was Governor of Bayelsa State from 14 February 2012 to 14 February 2020. He was earlier Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice of Bayelsa State from 2006 to 2007 and a member of the House of Representatives from 2007 to 2012, where he chaired the Committee on Justice.
Dickson is a founder of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, registered by INEC on 23 February 2026 as a breakaway from the African Democratic Congress. On 26 June 2026 a Federal High Court ordered INEC to deregister the party over a logo dispute.
