About Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan
Natasha Hadiza Akpoti-Uduaghan has represented Kogi Central in the Nigerian Senate since 2 November 2023, sitting on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party. She took the seat after the Court of Appeal set aside the 2023 election return of Abubakar Sadiku Ohere of the All Progressives Congress and declared her the winner of the poll.
A lawyer called to the Nigerian Bar in 2005, Akpoti-Uduaghan studied law at the University of Abuja and later took a master's degree at the University of Dundee. She was legal counsel at Brass LNG from 2007–2010 and founded the Builders Hub Impact Investment Program in 2015. She campaigned publicly for the revival of the Ajaokuta Steel Company.
The Senate suspended her for six months on 6 March 2025; a court ruled the suspension excessive on 4 July 2025. As of August 2026, Akpoti-Uduaghan remains the senator for Kogi Central and is the PDP candidate for the district in the 2027 election.
