Lyttleton Constitution Introduced
Date: October 22, 1954

The next amendment to the constitution was known as the Lyttleton Constitution, derived from Oliver Lyttleton. It was introduced in 1954 and was notable for strongly establishing the federal principle. This gave Nigeria an opportunity for independence from Great Britain.
