Abubakar Baba Zango represents Yola North/Yola South/Girei Federal Constituency of Adamawa State in the House of Representatives. He did not enter the chamber at inauguration: the Court of Appeal set aside the return of the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate on 23 October 2023 and declared Zango, who had contested on the All Progressives Congress platform, the winner. He was sworn in on 25 October 2023. He sits with the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
In September 2025 the Adamawa State High Court dismissed a land suit he had filed against the state government.
As of August 2026, Zango remains the member for Yola North/Yola South/Girei.
