Ibe Okwara Osonwa represents the Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency of Abia State in the 10th House of Representatives, and is one of the Labour Party (LP) members of the chamber. The constituency covers Arochukwu and Ohafia local government areas in Abia North.
Osonwa's constituency work has been reported through the Assembly's term, including a road construction project at Ebem Ohafia flagged off in February 2025, a scholarship scheme covering 200 students announced in November 2025, and an empowerment programme for more than 200 women in July 2025. In March 2026 he publicly backed Abia governor Alex Otti.
As of August 2026, Osonwa remains the member for Arochukwu/Ohafia; a pressure group announced in October 2025 that it would seek to unseat him in 2027.
