About Hon. Leke Abejide
Leke Abejide represents Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopa-Muro Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives. He first won the seat in 2019 and was returned at the 2023 general election. He sat for most of the 10th Assembly as an African Democratic Congress member and now sits for the All Progressives Congress.
The David Mark-led ADC national leadership expelled Abejide and eight others in April 2026, and he announced his resignation from the party on 1 May 2026, citing what he described as a hijack of its structures. A court affirmed the Mark-led leadership on 2 July 2026 and dismissed his suit against it. In May 2026 he emerged unopposed as the APC candidate for the constituency, taking all 34 wards.
As of August 2026, Abejide is seeking a third term in the House.
