Honourable Obi Aguocha
About Hon. Obi Aguocha
Obi Aguocha represents the Ikwuano/Umuahia North/Umuahia South Federal Constituency of Abia State in Nigeria's House of Representatives, sitting on the Labour Party platform. He took the seat in the 10th Assembly following the 2023 general election, in which the Labour Party won a majority of Abia's federal seats.
Aguocha is among the more prominent Labour Party voices in the chamber, campaigning publicly for the release of the detained Indigenous People of Biafra leader Nnamdi Kanu and raising security conditions in the South East, including a June 2026 call on communities to guard against armed incursions. In May 2026 he argued that the Labour Party's structure in Abia had outlasted Peter Obi's departure from the party.
As of August 2026 Aguocha remains the member for Ikwuano/Umuahia.
