Honourable Salman Idris
About Hon. Salman Idris
Salman Idris represents Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives, sitting with the All Progressives Congress. The February 2023 poll for the seat was initially declared inconclusive by INEC before he was returned, and he was sworn in with the 10th National Assembly in June 2023.
Idris crossed to the APC in July 2024, a move the House minority caucus objected to on the floor. He won the party's Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu primary in May 2026, defeating Toyin Omole, and thanked party leaders in July 2026 after securing the ticket for a second term. He has pressed the federal government to site permanent military formations in Kogi in response to banditry.
As of August 2026 Idris remains the member for Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu.
