Useni Mark Bako represents Takum/Donga/Ussa Federal Constituency of Taraba State in the House of Representatives on the platform of the All Progressives Congress. He won the seat at a supplementary election concluded on 15 April 2023; the election petition tribunal upheld his return in October 2023 and the Court of Appeal affirmed it in December 2023.
Before going to Abuja, Useni was Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly. In the House he has spoken on insecurity along the Taraba–Benue boundary, calling in August 2024 for closer collaboration between the two state governments and with affected communities, and his office reported 88 constituency projects and ten sponsored bills at the two-year mark in June 2025.
As of August 2026 he remains the member for Takum/Donga/Ussa.
